A study on in vitro shoot morphogenesis in Dendrobium cultivars induced by steroid plant growth regulator 28-homobrassinolide (28-hBL)

The effect of shoot regeneration induced by the steroid plant growth regulator, 28-homobrassinolide (28-hBL) at different concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mg
L-1 in 1/2 MS basal medium was studied for three Dendrobium cultivars, 'Rungnappa Red', 'Miss Snow White' and 'Earsakul'. The minimum days for shoot multiplication was observed in 'Rungnappa Red' and 'Earsakul' at 4.0 mg L-1 and in 'Miss Snow White' at 0.5 mg L-1 of 28-hBL concentration. The maximum number of shoots were obtained at 28-hBL concentrations 0.5, 2.0 and 4.0 mg L-1 in 'Rungnappa Red', Miss Snow White' and 'Earsakul', respectively.
