The renewed and increasing interest in the naturally sourced products, among these the indigo can be considered one of the most important dye. Today natural dyes are used by specialist companies and craft dyers. Production of natural indigo present several disadvantages, which are discuss in this paper. The employ of exogenous enzymes in indigo production could be lead at a new and eco friendly methodology for indigo production.
