'GRANDA ROSA' - NEW POLISH STRAWBERRY CULTIVAR
Granda Rosa is a new strawberry cultivar bred at the Research Institute of Horticulture, Skierniewice, Poland.
It originates from a cross between Granda and Camarosa. In 2010 the cultivar was submitted to the Polish National Lists of Fruit Plant Varieties and it is protected by the Polish PBR. Granda Rosa is a short-day strawberry cultivar, it ripens a couple days later than Honeoye. The commercial productivity of Granda Rosa in the field is similar to Honeoye and higher than Elsanta, which is commonly grown in Poland.
Its fruits are larger and firmer and more attractive than the fruits of Honeoye or Elsanta. The plants are less susceptible to Verticillium wilt than the plants of Honeoye and Elsanta.
