STRAWBERRY BREEDING IN ZHEJIANG OF CHINA

Zhejiang province is one of the main crop areas of strawberry in China. In Zhejiang, all the strawberry production is greenhouse culture, normally harvest period is from late November to May. The breeding programme at Institute of Horticulture, Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences started in 2003 and aimed at early ripening, good quality, adapt to low temperature and less sunlight. There are two new strawberry cultivars named ‘Yuezhu’ and ‘Yueli’.
