NEW GENETIC AND GENOMIC TOOLS FOR CITRUS BREEDING

Mikeal L. Roose
Citrus fruit consumers demands more production during year-round. This involves the availability of new varieties that could face with this demand. This challenge has pushed citrus breeders in the quest of new scions and rootstocks to cover all the year production and climates. The present work is a summary of the plenary conference presented at the XII International Citrus Congress on the importance of genetic and genomics tools for citrus breeding.
