The genotype 'PTR-6' exhibited higher mean yield in large scale demonstration, farm and multilocation trials (MLT). Total soluble solids (TSS), acidity, lycopene content and pericarp thickness were high in 'PTR-6', whereas pH was low, which is desirable. PTR-6 was resistant to early blight and moderately resistant to tomato leaf curl disease, while 'Arka Ashish' was moderately susceptible. Based on these results, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, has released 'PTR-6' as a commercial cultivation for north-eastern Karnataka, India.
