INTRODUCTION
Trees are an important and very valuable component of our urban landscapes. In a civic sense, they:
- Help reduce air temperatures
- Reduce electricity consumption (which in turn reduces the use of coal and demands on water)
- Sequester carbon
- Prolong the life of asphalt
- Improve the amenity value of our streets
- Help reduce storm-water runoff and much more.
