Effects of rhizosphere-treatments with a plant-strengthening agent in combination with different charcoal composts on cucumbers
Investigations have shown that KE-plantasalva® in the form of spraying and pouring has significantly revitalized and boosted yields in different leafy vegetable crops: chard (Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris) proved significantly increased yield. Lactuca sativa var. capitata as well showed positive effects of the treatment.
The aim of this study was to examine the effects on growth, yield and quality of cucumbers (Cucumis sativus, green fresh fruit). The latter are considered as chlorine sensitive and demanding good nutrition and watering.
The assumption was that limiting effects of the plant-strengthener can be compensated by the charcoals in the root-zone which should be visible in growth and harvest.
The variant with the lowest concentration of the plant strengthening agent, variant 2 (0.5% without charcoal application) and the variant 6 (1.5% PlantaSalva® plus charcoal 3) showed the highest yields.
Other parameters did not exhibit such clearly distinguishable results.
