Bibliometric analysis (1999-2015) of herbaceous peony as an ornamental flower based on CNKI

Based on a bibliometric analysis, shared data were retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database to collect information on articles and patents related to herbaceous peony in the period 1999-2015. A total of 266 articles and 67 patents were produced by 12 core authors and three core inventors, respectively. Beijing Forestry University, Yangzhou University and Shandong Agricultural University are the three most productive research institutions in terms of published articles. Most articles focused on plant physiology and horticultural cultivation, while patents usually concentrated on horticultural cultivation techniques and cultural creativity. Since the vast majority of the herbaceous peony literature is published in Chinese, this bibliometric analysis provides a unique and valuable resource for initiating further studies related to herbaceous peony.
