'Jowan' was crossed with 'Shinshu' and 'Taeshu' in 2005. From the progeny we selected '05-17-58' and evaluated some characteristics. The fruit ripens at late September on Youngam area in Korea, it's soluble sugar content is 16.4 °Brix, the fruit weight is 180-200 g, fruit shape is round oblate, and fruit skin color is light orange. Also its fruit quality is very high and has a juicy flesh, crunchy taste and regular productivity. Hence, it has been named 'Jowan' and registered for protection in the Korea Seed & Variety Service in 2013.
