STUDY OF APRICOT CULTIVARS RESISTANCE TO DIEBACK (I. MORPHOLOGY)

G. Cejka, O. Majerník
The resistance theme was discussed already two years ago at Lednice in Moravia. Many of you know our object Kozlienka. Apricot varieties grafted on it are resistant to dieback.

The endeavour to gain some knowlhedge about the structure of resistant cultivar gave rise to this work. We know that morphological point of a organism results chiefly from its hereditary qualities and inner reactions.

Habitus of an individual often at the first sight shows a change of its inner processes. (Majernik 1966). Morphological comparison of a resistant and susceptible variety shows whether our provisional hypothesis is correct. We do not exclude morphological point also as a natural signalizer for growing apricot trees without apoplectic dieback.
