STUDY OF APRICOT CULTIVARS RESISTANCE TO DIEBACK (II. PHYSIOLOGY)

O. Majerník, G. Cejka
We have found the superiority of stimulations in the cultivar susceptible to dieback. Katabolizm is stimulated up the total exhaustion of energy (Majernik, Fric 1963, Majernik 1961).

Synthesis of toxic substances or their groups is stimulated as well (L a c o k, Niznanská, Majernik 1962, Erdelská 1961). In the same cultivar the growth is stimulated, the development is accelerated and the tree dies away prematurely.

It is important for the study of apricot resistance to dieback, to find out which factors or physiological processes inhibit growth and development formation of toxic substances or their group in the resistant cultivar.

It means that fundamental physiological aspect of the resistance must be studied. Dieback seems to be a wider notion. From the whole complexity of factors, ensuring the existance of cultivar we must the substance of adaptability tolerance to given conditions.
