The mulching case: how to improve collection and recovery?

A. Arbenz, J. Rouvreau, S. Cavaignac, F. Cogneau
A collaborative project on the reduction of agricultural plastic film contamination has been initiated in France in 2012: RAFU project (Recycling Agricultural Used Film). This research project resulted in reducing the amount of soiled or contaminated mulching film by focusing on the characterization, application and cleaning before the recycling process itself. Thanks to the data collected, it is now a thorough knowledge that is available for further experimentations and implementations. This article will build on the work realized so far to explore new opportunities leading to more and better collection and recycling results.
