Selection of mulberry (Morus alba) in Giresun province, Turkey

This research was carried out in Giresun province in Turkey for determining characteristics of 36 selected mulberry (Morus alba) types in 2013-2014 years. In the scope of productivity observations, fruit weight, total soluble solid (TSS), seedless, fruit juice yield, fruit dry yield, titratable acidity and taste were measured. Among the selected types fruit weight ranged 0.75-3.26 g, total soluble solids 12.80-26.73%, fruit juice yield 19.58-48.13% and titratable acid contents 0.04-0.18 mg 100 mL‑1. These types are intended for fresh consumption, pekmez, for drying and processing in jam.
