The determination of outputs and qualities of cuttings of some grapevine rootstocks
The aim of this research is to determine the output and quality of cuttings of taking from 99 R, 41B, 1103P and Kober 5BB rootstocks. Cane length (m vine‑1), cane number (no. vine-1), branch number (no. shoot‑1), node number (unit shoot‑1), average node length (cm), 1st grade cutting number (no. vine‑1), 2nd grade cutting number (no. vine‑1), total cutting number (number vine‑1), total wood weight (kg vine‑1), total cutting weight (kg vine‑1) and cutting output (%) (total cutting weight/total wood weight) were recorded for per rootstock. Among the rootstocks, cane length, cane number, branch number, node number, average node length ranged 29.2-54.3 m vine‑1, 11.0-19.0 number vine‑1, 4.1-9.5 number vine‑1, 19.8-31.0 number vine‑1, 8.6-13.0 cm, respectively. 41B and 1103P rootstocks had more branches than that of others. Among the rootstocks, Kober 5BB had the least node number. Among the rootstocks, 1st grade cuttings number (7-11 mm diameter), 2nd grade cutting number, (4-6 mm diameter), total cutting number and cutting output ranged 23.5-71.5 number vine‑1, 24.0-53.0 number vine‑1, 51.0-118.5 number vine‑1 and 45.6-77.2, respectively. In terms of total cutting number, 1103P showed the superiority than other rootstocks. Kober 5BB, 41B and 1103P rootstocks had the higher cutting outputs with about 70% than that of 99 R about 50%.
