In the past two decades, Rubus breeding has been mainly focused on primocane-fruiting raspberry in Shenyang Agricultural University (SYAU). The main objective of the program was to breed commercially acceptable primocane-fruiting raspberry cultivars for fresh market. Three primocane-fruiting raspberry cultivars, ‘Qiuping’, ‘Red Diamond’ and ‘Futa’, were released. The fresh and processing quality of the three cultivars was evaluated using cultivars ‘Autumn Bliss’ and ‘Heritage’ as control. There was significant variability for fruit quality, yield and harvest ability among the cultivars. ‘Qiuping’ showed high yield, large berry and good firmness with early ripening 6 to 10 days than ‘Heritage’ and 4 to 5 days than ‘Autumn Bliss’. ‘Red Diamond’ produced the highest yield, larger fruits with best fresh and good IQF quality, and a similar mature season to ‘Qiuping’. ‘Futa’ had the largest fruits, higher yield, better gloss and firmness than ‘Autumn Bliss’ and ‘Heritage’, but had the latest mature season. These three cultivars were notable for attractive fruit size and quality and were believed to have considerable commercial potential as both fresh market and processing in China.
