Evaluation of old sour cherry genotypes ex situ collected in Iasi, Romania

The aim of this paper was to evaluate some old sour cherry genotypes in Romanian northeastern area conditions. In the period 2016-2018 studies were done, having as research material 11 old sour cherry genotypes (‘Mocăneşti 104/24’, ‘Mocăneşti 32/20’, ‘Focşani 3’, ‘Suraia’, ‘Crişane 11/6’, ‘Bizigheşti’, ‘Selecţia Cotea’, ‘Mocăneşti 16’, ‘Pitic’, ‘De Botoşani’ and ‘Mocăneşti 6/7’) which were ex situ collected at RSFG Iaşi, Romania. The climate factors, frost resistance expressed in percent from total sectional buds, phenological stages, fruit, peduncle and stone features were analysed. In the climate conditions of the studied years, the smallest fruit of the sour cherry genotypes was shown by ‘Mocăneşti 16’ (4.13 g) while the largest one was ‘Mocăneşti 104/24’ (7.12 g). Stone ranged between 0.21 g (‘Mocăneşti 104/24’) to 0.36 g (‘Mocăneşti 16’).
