Leaf curl, caused by the fungus Taphrina deformans (Berk.) Tul., and powdery mildew, caused by the fungus Sphaerotheca pannosa Lev. var. persicae Woronich, count among the most harmful peach diseases. Hence, the development of cultivars with enhanced resistance to these pathogens is an important task for breeders. The rates of infestation with leaf curl and powdery mildew have been studied at 24 peach breeding forms, with the use of cultivar 'Sovyetskiy' as reference. Seven forms demonstrated enhanced resistance to leafcurl, compared to the reference: (DN × BG 5 γс 40) 97-120, V × FM 80-692, (R × S 80-340) × S 92-1973, S 38-176, S 3810, S 40-16, V × FM 80-438. Two of them have been developed with the use of cultivar 'Favourita Morettini': V × FM 80-692 and V × FM 80-438. One form (DN × BG 5 γс 40) 97-120 was obtained by exposure of seeds to gamma-radiation at the dose of 40 Gy. Three forms, S 38-176, S 38-10 and S 40-16, were obtained through gamma-irradiation of vegetative buds of the cultivar 'Sovyetskiy' at the dose of 50 Gy. Three forms with enhanced resistance to powdery mildew have been selected: (K × ASK 84-107) × T 92-2210, (DN × BG 5 γс 40) 97-120 and Vt × KF 84-2475. Researched eco-geographical peach groups (Iranian and North-Chinese) did not display any differentials as to infestation with leaf curl and powdery mildew. The form (DN × BG 5 γс 40) 97-120 showed a comprehensive enhanced resistance to leaf curl and powdery mildew.
