Development of biopesticide and biostimulant formulations for good agricultural practices in greenhouse cucumber cultivation

This study aimed to provide the commercial use of beneficial bacteria which were selected according to the results of the previous studies. For this purpose, it was provided to scale up production of beneficial bacteria using cheaper substrates and obtaine their wettable powder formulations using the freeze-drying technique. The shelf life of the bacterial formulations as 107-108 cfu g-1 formulation after six months storage at freeze was also determined. The bio formulations were tested for growth promotion and biocontrol of Fusarial wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum under growth chamber conditions. Bio-formulation of Pantoea agglomerans strain 83 inhibited Fusarium wilt of cucumber at the rate of 82% compared to pathogen alone treatments by pot tests. The bio-formulation increased the total fresh and dry biomass of cucumber plants compared to non-treated control plants. Our work will continue with commercial greenhouse experiments.
