The first inventory of Hemipteran Auchenorrhynca insects in the Marrakech-Safi region, Morocco
Our study aims to diagnose the current state of Auchenorrhynca fauna in the Marrakech-Safi region (Morocco) to prevent a possible introduction of the Xylella fastidiosa bacterium.
Several investigations were carried out on different ecosystems, mainly olive trees, herbaceous vegetation and forest plants, between March 2020 and September 2021. The collections were done using the sweeping net.
In this study, we present the results on the relative abundance of the nine taxonomic families found from which 14 species were described and six genera identified.
We will also report the geographic distribution of the species encountered.
