Mejhoul cultivation in the Arab Republic of Egypt
Egypt is considered the largest producer of palm dates in the world.
Different cultivars of dates are produced all over Egypts areas.
In the last 15 years, the Mejhoul cultivar had a significant expansion in different governorates in Egypt because of the advantages of this high marketing value semi-dry cultivar.
More than 700,000 Mejhoul date palm trees have been planted through a mega-national project in Egypt, where the Egyptian Government and the political leadership pay special attention to the date palm production sector in Egypt.
