INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT AERATION SYSTEMS ON THE CLIMATE AND THE FRUITSET OF A MUSKMELON UNDER PE GREENHOUSE

H. Verlodt, J. Triki, N. Ennabli
Four different aeration systems were compared concerning their influence on the bioclimate under PE greenhouse.

The lowest maximum air and soil temperatures and relative humidity were obtained under PE greenhouse covered by alternating 6 m large PE sheets with movable 2 m large PE sheets.

The highest temperatures and humidity were registrated under the control greenhouse where the aeration was realised by lateral and manual pushing aside of the PE sheets.

Combination of lateral and ridge aeration in the greenhouse gives better results than the control, and the climate amelioration was even better than with use of an extractor or ventilator in each gable.

Fruitset in the top of the muskmelon plants was significantly ameliorated under the greenhouse with movable PE sheets.
