GOAL ORIENTED PROJECT PLANNING - THE CASE OF THE HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTION CENTRE, TAITA HILLS

W. Elfring
The Goal Oriented Project Planning (GOPP) method consists of the tree analysis technique and the Logical Frame-work approach. The two methods are usually applied for the design and planning of new projects in the field of technical cooperation and together with feasibility studies they are tools during the design phase of a project.

The GOPP-approach was used in the case of the Horticultural Production Centre Taita Hills:

  • to clarify the specific results as well as the hoped for results from the project
  • to identify all the problems surrounding the case problem and other causally linked factors
  • to serve as an operational guideline for project implementation and evaluation
  • to improve flow of information from the project to institutions and persons involved.
