MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERS AND YIELDING EFFICIENCY OF SEMI-DWARF PEACH SELECTIONS
Morphological characters and yielding efficiency of seven semi-dwarf peach selections obtained by I.S.F. of Rome compared to semi-dwarf and dwarf varieties have been recorded.
The following characters have been studied:
- Tree: height, width, trunk diameter.
- Twigs: diameter, length internode length number of flower buds.
- Yield: fertility index, fertility degree, fruit drop, cumulated crop of the tree in three years, average weight of the fruit, yielding efficiency.
IF 6910019, IF 6910167, IF 6910242, IF 7010200 and IF 7310828 selections were more productive than the semi-dwarf test; IF 6910138 is competitive with the semi-dwarf test, and IF 7310902 has shown a lower yielding efficiency.
