STUDIES ON THE ORGANIZATION AND STANDARDIZATION OF LABOUR INPUT IN GREENHOUSE PRODUCTION

The development of socialism in the German Democratic Republic proceeds in the conditions of scientific and technical revolution and the perfection of its economic system. This situation has imposed, in the framework of every enterprise, the following changes:
  1. Rationalization of all production processes, a basis of the maximum growth of the national income.
  2. The continuous improvement of labour and living conditions.
  3. The perfection of the individual to the level of an allround educated socialist personality.

It should be borne in mind that the problems of scientific and technical revolution, which are connected in one or another manner with the working people, attain an ever growing significance. The human being, as a conscious builder of society and production, acquires greater civil rights continuously. The latter is a confirmation of the fact that the production costs of every individual working place in the contemporary greenhouse production of vegetables, amount to around 200,000 marks, while the value of its total production reaches 70–80,000 marks. This is by far greater than the level reached up to now on medium sized greenhouse farms. This process continues to develop and parallelly with it the investments for every single working place increase, together with the care of every individual worker. The functions of the workers in the working processes continuously change. The importance of preliminary planning, management and control also increases. In this process there is a marked tendency towards the decrease of manual (physical) labour and the physical overcharging of the individual, but the psychical and nervous burden of the worker increase. The increased division of labour between the separate workers and the continuity of the production processes, as a result of the concentration of labour, are conductive to compelling the individual worker to carry out a special kind of work, providing he remains at one and the same place for a prolonged period of time, or even for good. Thus the inadequately organized working places lead not only to the decrease in the productivity of labour, but are also harmful to the health of the individual and impede his allround development.

Thus the necessity arises to carrying out of a complex study and the formation of an optimum manner of relationships between the individual and the place which he occupies in the production processes. At this, we always bear in mind the interweaving and the mutual dependence of the technical, economic, biological and psychological components of labour and taking the respective measures regarding the technology and organization of labour, i.e. measures in respect to the organization of labour
