A STUDY ON THE CULTIVARS OF THE ACONITUM NAPELLUS- AND A. VARIEGATUM-COMPLEX ACCORDING TO THE CHARACTERISTICS FOR DESTINATION OF THE INFERIOR TAXA.

H. Müssel
Among the cultivars of the Aconitum napellus and A. variegatum groups and its hybrids there are remarkable differences in habit, nevertheless they all are issued under their respective collective names. Yet in several cases a systematic order according to its origin is seen to be necessary. In literature there are various known inferior taxa, above all in the A. napellus group. A general examination of all the specimens being collected in the Sichtungsgarten Weihenstephan in accordance with recent European floras has shown that it is possible to arrange them all - also in correspondence with their outer features - into 4 subspecies of A. napellus L. In a similar way there could be found among collected wild forms exponents for the 3 subspecies of A. variegatum L. Finally 5 or 6 different cultivars of the hybrid-group A. x cammarum L. could be categorized according to its origin.
