EFFECT OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ON GROWTH, YIELD AND ON THE ACTIVE PRINCIPLES OF SOME SPICE PLANTS

L. Hornok
Our experiments have demonstrated relations between the environmental factors and the production of a certain type of special metabolic products. The reaction of different species /anise, caraway, coriander, dill, tarragon/ to the same factor is often different. Therefore, any common interpretation of the effect of a given environmental factor /light, temperature, moistur, etc./ would be a practical mistake. Further and more elaborate studies are necessary to investigate the effect of these factors for every seperate species.
