INTERACTIONS "TRAINING SYSTEM X SOIL X ROOTSTOCK" WITH REGARD TO VINE ECOPHYSIOLOGY, VIGOR, YIELD AND RED WINE QUALITY IN THE BORDEAUX AREA

A. CARBONNEAU, P. CASTERAN
Over 10 years some major ecophysiological observations and measurements of vine vigor, yield and wine quality have been done inside a split-plot experimental design including different training systems, soils and rootstocks for the main red varieties (Merlot, Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon) in the Bordeaux area.

The results show the hierarchy of the different factors, the better adaptation of the open lyre versus the traditional vine, and the level of the interactions "training system x soil x rootstock".
