SELECTION FOR SODIUM CHLORIDE TOLERANCE IN CHRYSANTHEMUMS.

V. DALSOU, K.C. SHORT
Mutagenesis coupled with a two stage selection procedure using callus and plantlets was employed to select for NaCl tolerant chrysanthemums. At each incremental stage of organisation the selection pressure was increased and resulted in the isolation of salt tolerant clones. These plantlets were more succulent than control plantlets but exhibited comparable growth characteristics.
