GENOTYPICAL DIFFERENCES IN RESPONSE TO MICROPROPAGATION TECHNICS IN PRUNUS DOMESTICA

R. Jona, R. Vigliocco
A sequence of media was devised to propagate in vitro some cultivars of Prunus domestica. The response of three cultivars ('Stanley', 'President' and 'Bluefre') was markedly different. 'Stanley' was the most reactive in producing rosettes while 'President' proliferated better and more profusely.

On the other hand this sequence did not work with 'Bluefre' which produced hardly any rosettes, thus hindering any further investigation. From its behaviour it can be supposed that 'Bluefre' is especially and negatively sensitive to GA3.
