INVOLVEMENT OF ETHYLENE ON SENESCENCE AND VITRIFICATION OF IN VITRO CULTURED MINIROSES

M.P. De Proft, G. Van den Broek, J.A. De Greef
Ethylene , produced by in vitro cultured miniroses, accumulates in the culture container atmosphere. The ethylene production of the miniroses is lowered by an AVG application. Exogenous ethylene or ACC enhances senescence and leafabscission. Removal of the leaves induces vitrification.
