CLONAL MICROPROPAGATION OF APPLE TREES
Micropropagation of adult apple scion cultivars "Ougnoe" and "Chernomorskoe letneey" is described. Shoot proliferation was obtained on ½ MS medium supplemented with 0.5–5mg/1 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). Rooting was induced by treating the base of the shoots with 0.1% indole-3yl-butyric acid (IBA) or indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) for 6 hours and cultivating them on the hormone-free medium.
The low survival rate of apple plantlets after transfer them to soil was associated with abnormal stomatal function.
