THE ROLE OF AMINO-OXYACETIC ACID, TRITON X-100 AND KINETIN AS COMPONENTS OF A PRETREATMENT SOLUTION FOR CARNATIONS

H. Harkema, E.J. Woltering, J.G. Beekhuizen
A mixture of amino-oxyacetic acid (AOA), Triton X-100 and kinetin extended longevity of cut carnation flowers considerably. AOA inhibited ethylene synthesis and, to a certain extent, also protected the flowers against exogenous ethylene.

Triton X-100 extended longevity of the flowers, but dit not protect them against exogenous ethylene.
