THE CARNATION INDUSTRY IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

V. van Sant
The carnation industry in Western Australia has grown drasticly in the past 8–10 years. Its major development has been around Perth, which has ideal climatic conditions

With the use of simple unheated polyethylene film-covered greenhouses, high quality carnations can be produced.

A growing demand for West Australian floricultural products in south-east Asia, Hong Kong and Japan, shows the potential West Australia has to become a major exporter to the Pacific region.
