NOTES ON A SMALL VEGETABLE MARKET GARDEN TRIAL IN UGANDA

A.G.K. Will
The following data is compiled from records of a small vegetable garden irrigated by overhead sprinklers which has been operated continuously for almost five years at Kawanda Research Station. The object of this garden is to provide information on practical problems likely to arise in a small, intensively cultivated market garden of the type which might in the future supply some of the fresh produce needed by a local township or nearby urban market. The garden is operated by three full-time gardeners, taken to be the equivalent of farmer, his wife and one son or daughter.
