The middle section of cucumber and tomato leaves appeared to be a representative partion of plant material in which the nutritional status of plants can be evaluated.

NO3-N, P and K were determined in both plant tissue and plant sap.

The concentrations of these nutrients in plant tissue after extraction were found to be quite similar to those in plant sap.
