CONSUMER DEMAND FOR GREENHOUSE PRODUCTS IN SWEDEN: THE CASE OF TOMATOES AND CUCUMBERS

L. EKELUND, M. LUNDAHL
The paper presents an analysis of the demand for tomatoes and cucumbers in Sweden. The results show that the price elasticity for tomatoes has decreased from -0.37 (1969–76) to -0.16 (1977–1985). Cucumbers had a price elasticity of -0.30 (1977–85). Income elasticities were only significant for tomatoes during the first part of the period: 0.66 (1969–76).
