THE INTERACTION OF TEMPERATURE AND FUNGICIDES DURING THE STORAGE OF TULIP BULBS

E. Valásková
The effects of different fungicides and storage temperatures, as well as two periods of exposure to the disinfectant, were investigated in an attempt to find the most promising combinations for practical use. In order of decreasing influence upon the treated plant material, the factors studied were: bulb size, fungicide, duration of disinfection, and temperature. For bulbs over the 12-cm size the treatment giving the highest quantity of planting material a 1-hour dip in 0.25% Germisan (mercury compound) before the storage at 25.5°C, for bulbs of 8 tot 10-cm size a preplanting application of 0.5% Heryl (TMTD) gave the best results.
