PACLOBUTRAZOL APPLICATION TO YOUNG CHERRY TREES

G.E. Thomson, W.K. Thompson
Commercial orchardists sometimes experience difficulty in limiting the size of cherry trees and in inducing young trees to commence cropping. Application of paclobutrazol at rates between 25 and 100 g active ingredient/ha to the cultivars Moss Early and Lewis reduced vegetative growth in the two years after application and increased fruit set and fruit numbers on Moss Early trees.
