CROWN RESTRICTION IN BLUEBERRIES REDUCE HARVESTING GROUND LOSSES

R.P. Rohrbach, C.M. Mainland
Crown restricting collars made from agricultural drainage tubing were installed over young highbush blueberry plants in the field. The bush structure at the base was favorably modified to reduce average commercial mechanical harvesting ground losses by 40%. No clear effect on total harvest was observed.
