EVALUATION OF VEGETATIVE AND PRODUCTIVE PARAMETERS OF APPLE ON DWARFING ROOTSTOCK IN HDP
Vegetative and productive parameters of apples on two rootstocks were evaluated at 3 planting densities, 13 333 6666 and 3333 trees/ha.
An important effect due to planting density on productivity and vegetative growth was observed for Golden Delicious/M.9 while no effect emerged for Golden Delicious/M.27.
Both type and amount of growth of the cultivar were markedly affected by the roostock as well as the productive efficiency (kg/m2) and fruiting density (kg/m3).
In this connection the less vigorous rootstock exhibited an unbalanced reproductive-vegetative development that seems to be related to a very low production of dry matter during the first period of the vegetative cycle.
