C. Haberman, A.L. Szeskin, Y. Segal
The purpose of the research is to evaluate various technologies using renewable and conventional energy resources in greenhouses in developing regions of Israel.

The research includes the following topics:

  1. Horticulture crops to be grown in protected environment.
  2. Heating technologies: geothermal and solar energy compared to conventional energy resources.
  3. Various greenhouse structures.
  4. Cost-benefit analysis of various alternatives.

Agroclimatic conditions relevant for protected cultivation will be presented in a systematic form.

The methodology applied in the research is based on a matrix model. The model will be applied by developing a personal computer programme.
