EFFECT OF WOUNDING AND PROPAGATION MEDIA ON THE ROOTING OF TWO VARIETIES OF CAMELLIA JAPONICA L.

E. González, J.L.G. Mantilla, T. Díaz, I. Iglesias
The results confirm that the Camellia japonica variety Oranda-Ko roots easily (&appeq;100%), however the split base wounding (SBW) had a negative effect. Variety 66 is difficult to root and all the treatments used, including SBW, increased the percentage of rhizogenesis. The cuttings that were subjected to SBW and treated with hormones reached a level of 100% when rock wool was used as a rooting medium.
