EFFECT OF GROWTH REGULATORS ON THE SEEDLING-GROWTH OF LATHYRUS ODORATUS, ZINNIA ELEGANS, MATTHIOLA INCANA AND ANTIRRHINUM MAJUS.
The effect of seed-soaking for 24 hours with GA3 (50–200mg/l), GA4+7 /50–200mg/1), NAA (5–20mg/l), PP-333 (50–200mg/l), Ethephon (250–1000mg/l), RSW 0411 7 WG 029 A (25–400mg/l) and Sumi-7 (100–400mg/l) on the growth of seedlings of Lathyrus odoratus, Zinnia elegans, Matthiola incana and Antirrhinum majus was examined.
GA3 improved the germination of the treated seeds.
The seedlings of Zinnia, Matthiola and Antirrhinum treated with NAA, GA3 and GA4+7 where higher, better branched and of better quality than the non-treated plants. Matthiola and Zinnia treated with GA3, GA4+7 and NAA started to flower earlier than plants in the other treatments. The Gibberellins and NAA caused an excessive elongation of the internodes of Lathyrus odoratus, while treatment with PP-333 improved their quality.
