A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON IN VITRO PROPAGATION SYRINGA VULGARIS L.
Excised lateral buds from 2-year-old plants of Syringa vulgaris cv.
Mme Florent Stepman were rejuvenated by repeated subculturing.
Next, the influences of various concentrations of cytokinins (kinetin, 2iP, BAP) and thidiazuron on the induction and growth of axillary shoots on single-nodal explants were investigated. BAP and thidiazuron in the highest concentrations were most effective in promoting axillary shoot proliferation. All cytokinins and thidiazuron stimulated shoot elongation.
