THE INFLUENCE OF AUXINS ON THE ROOTING OF CUTTINGS OF BOUGAINVILLEA GLABRA CHOISY
Experiments were carried out in 1986–1988 in the greenhouse.
Stem cuttings different in thickness were collected from old and young stock plants.
The rooting process lasted 10–22 weeks.
The best results were obtained using a powder containing 0.2% of NAA with an addition of Kaptan and Benomyl.
In this treatment the cuttings rooted in 50–96%.
Under the influence of 0.2–0.4% of IBA the cuttings rooted in 66–88%. In control treatment, without auxins, the cuttings rooted in 22.5–93% but their root system was very poorly developed. The cuttings prepared in February and March rooted in the highest percentage and in the shortest time.
