EFFECT OF GIBBERELLIC ACID ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND YIELD OF "SONIA" ROSES GROWN UNDER PLASTIC TUNNEL

H. Wisniewska-Grzeszkiewicz, J. Treder
Gibrescol /GA3/100 mg/l and Promalin /GA4+7+ BA/ 1000mg/l was applied by spraying on "Sonia" roses either when the young shoots were of 3–5 cm length or continuously every two weeks. The flowers were harvested all season or only in autumn. The yield was strongly affected by the means of pruning the flowers. The plants harvested all season yielded 50% better than those harvested only in autumn. The treatment of GA3 during the entire season at 2-weeks intervals resulted in longer stems and flower buds. Other treatments of GA3 did not affect the number of flowers obtained from one plant.
