CHANGES IN SOME PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS IN POST HARVEST LIFE OF SPRAY CARNATION
Invertase activity and the content of sucrose and reducing sugars have been estimated in the buds of Spray carnation-cv.
Super Gold, depending on the stage of development and the process of senescence.
The influence of four solutions for blossoming upon the given parameters was studied.
In the variant solutions, the invertase had higher activity, and it functioned for a longer time than in the control-water. The ratio between sucrose and the reducing sugars varied according to the variant solution and the stage of development, but it general this ratio corresponded to the changes in the invertase activity.
