THE EFFECT OF THE CULTIVATION METHODS ON THE GROWTH AND FLOWERING OF LIATRIS SPICATA WILLD
Liatris spicata plants were cultivated for three years under a cold polythene tunnel, in frame and in field.
The plants were grown in three combinations: in field, in frame, and under the polythene tunnel, both in the ground and in the ground bed.
For the above cultivation methods the plants were either covered in black foil or were not covered.
The results showed that the best quality of flowers was obtained from the polythene tunnel.
The cultivation under this condition increased the number of flowers and caused early flowering in relation to other treatments.
The application of the black foil in the cultivation of liatris promoted the elongation of the floral stalk.
