TRAILS FOR THE CONTROL OF POSTHARVEST ROTS OF PAPAYA (CARICA PAPAYA L.) IN THE CANARY ISLANDS.

J.M. Hernández Hernández, L. Sala Mayato
This paper present the results of a trial to determine causal agent and control measures for a fast growing postharvest rots of papaya, c.v. Waimanalo. The important conclusions are that Rhizopus stolonifer (Ehrenberg ex Fr.) Lind. is the species responsible for this rot and that the visual differences observed seem to be independent of treatment due, probably, to the random distribution of the inoculum.
